Day 11 - Big Boy Beds & Break-ins

Yesterday was another doozie, but for reasons other than Jude this time.  Jude was able to wean the oxygen down to a mixture that is similar to room air.  He is still wearing the nasal cannula, but it's just pumping in room air to help him get optimal oxygen.

On rounds yesterday morning, the doctors still believe he is doing very well and we are just waiting for the PDA to close completely.  He did get another echo yesterday and it is still open.

Jude's nurse yesterday was wonderful!  She helped us get a new big boy bed for him, so now he has a little more room.  It's about the size of his crib at home, but with way more buttons and features.  All babies have to be moved to these beds before they are allowed to leave the CICU, so it's one more step in the right direction.

Last night after leaving Jude we went to eat at a restaurant nearby.  When we came back out an hour later, we realized our back door window had been broken and someone stole Jude's diaper bag.  Thankfully, there weren't any high-valuable items in it.  Just some dirty clothes, snacks, and a recently purchased water bottle.  We did have to call the police to report a break-in, but there wasn't really much they could do.  Now it's just another headache and item to add to our list of "you've got to be kidding me right now".  Today the plan is to get the car window fixed and replace the items that were stolen.

Here's a few cute photos of Jude to leave this summary on a high note:

Jude is supposed to be presented at conference today (for real this time), so we will see how the day goes.
